The Nightmare Before Christmas is a stunningly original and visually delightful work of stop-motion animation that has become a cult phenomenon. Despite having recently presided over a very successful Halloween, Jack Skellington, aka the Pumpkin King, is bored with his job and feels that life in Halloweenland lacks meaning. Then he stumbles upon Christmastown and promptly decides to make the Yuletide his own. (USA, 1993, 76 Mins., PG, English | Dir. Tim Burton)
The first night of The Burton Ball will feature a screening of one of Tim Burton’s most popular films, The Nightmare Before Christmas, a costume contest with great prizes following the film, and a gala reception in our cafe - with beer, wine, and food available for purchase.

Day Two of the Burton Ball will feature a fun-filled morning event for our young Tim Burton fans. With an encore screening of the stop-motion classic, The Nightmare Before Christmas, followed by a youth costume contest in the cafe - with a huge selection of collectables and merchandise available.

Shadowcast with Creatures of the Night!

Damn it, Janet! With a shadowcast performed by LI's own Creatures of the Night!
In this cult classic, sweethearts Brad (Barry Bostwick) and Janet (Susan Sarandon), stuck with a flat tire during a storm, discover the eerie mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter (Tim Curry), a transvestite scientist. This showing includes a live performance, a raffle for Rocky Horror prizes, and a costume contest. Prop bags are not permitted at the performance but will be available for purchase. In a rare Anything But Silent screening of an early sound film, we revisit the 1931 horror masterpiece, Dracula, starring Bela Lugosi.

Ben Model is one of America’s leading silent film accompanists, and has been playing piano and organ for silent films at the New York MoMA since 1984, and the CAC since 2006.
