Harborfields High School Student Tests Positive For Coronavirus
BREAKING: The school is closed on Monday and Tuesday; all learning will be held remotely until it reopens.
GREENLAWN, NY — A student of Harborfields High School tested positive for the coronavirus, the district learned Sunday. The school will be closed on Monday and Tuesday as the Suffolk Department of Health performs a contact tracing investigation, meaning all high school students and staff will follow remote learning instructions.
Officials will reach out to any parent or guardian whose child was considered a "close contact" of the student who tested positive.
"We are in constant contact with the Suffolk County Department of Health and will follow all necessary protocols to reduce exposure to other students and staff," Francesco Ianni, superintendent, told parents in a letter. "We will continue to take all necessary precautions to ensure the health and safety of the Harborfields Community as this remains our foremost priority."
