Voters Approve Harborfields School Budget, Board Members Elected

Harborfields residents headed to the polls Tuesday.

Harborfields residents approved a 2016-17 school budget on Tuesday.

The $82,859,569 budget was approved by a 60 percent margin. The budget is a 2.96 percent spending increase over the current year and it comes with a 1.52 percent tax levy increase, which exceeds the tax levy cap of 0.37 percent. Due to the tax levy exceeding the state's tax cap, the budget had to be approved by 60 percent.
