Dix Hills Resident Appointed Hauppague SD's Deputy Superintendent
DIX HILLS' JAMES STUCCHIO APPOINTED DEPUTY SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS OF THE HAUPPAUGE SCHOOL DISTRICT

The Hauppauge School District Board of Education is pleased to announce that Dix Hills resident James Stucchio has been appointed to serve as deputy superintendent of schools of the Hauppauge School District effective February 9, 2016. In making the announcement, Board of Education President David M. Barshay, Esq., thanked Stucchio for his 10 years of service to the District and his many contributions to the Hauppauge community.
Stucchio currently is the assistant superintendent for Business and Operations of the Hauppauge School District. In addition to his existing responsibilities managing the District’s financial component, Stucchio will assist the superintendent of schools in overseeing all aspects of the District. This includes managing the day-to-day operations as well as the planning, implementation and evaluation of programs and initiatives designed to increase the rigor and effectiveness of instruction. As deputy superintendent of schools, he also will assume the responsibilities and duties of the superintendent in his/her absence. “I am beyond thrilled to have the opportunity to serve in this new role,” Stucchio stated “As Hauppauge begins its next chapter, I look forward to working with all stakeholders to advance the school district to the next level of academic achievement. I am grateful to the Board of Education, staff and community for their confidence in my abilities.”
Prior to joining the Hauppauge School District in 2006, Stucchio served as a regional network specialist for the New York City Department of Education. He holds certifications as a New York State School Business Administrator and a New York State School District Administrator. Stucchio graduated magna cum laude from the Hofstra University George Dempster School of Communications and received an MBA with Distinction from the Hofstra University Frank G. Zarb School of Business. He additionally was awarded an Advanced Certificate in School Business Administration from Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus.

Stucchio is a member of the Suffolk County Association of School Business Officials – where he has served as membership chairperson since 2014 – the New York State Association of Business Officials and the Association of School Business Officials International. He was awarded the NYSUT Distinguished Service Award in 2013 by the NYSUT Long Island Directors and the Hauppauge Teachers’ Association.
