HELP OUR TROOPS CALL HOME

Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci (R,C,WF,I–Huntington Station) today is reminding residents about his ongoing support for the “Cell Phones for Soldiers” drive. Cell Phones for Soldiers is a non-profit organization which collects thousands of unwanted cell phones each month and sends the phones to ReCellular. ReCellular then pays the organization a fee to afford millions of pre-paid calling cards for U.S. troops stationed overseas.

“I hope that my constituents will join me in helping connect our soldiers with their loved ones,” said Lupinacci. “By donating a cell phone, you will be giving a service member the ability to call home and stay in touch with their family and friends.”

Americans will replace an estimated 150 million cell phones this year, and many of those unwanted cell phones will be stuffed into desk drawers or thrown in boxes. Lupinacci registered his District Office in Huntington Station as an official drop-off site for Cell Phones for Soldiers in an effort to prevent this waste and encourage people to donate their old cell phones for a great cause.
