Honors for State Champion Huntington Marching Band

The high school's Blue Devil Marching Band was recognized at Town Hall

The Huntington High School Blue Devil Marching Band was honored at Town Hall for winning the New York State Field Band Conference Championship and Governor’s Cup.

The victory, which came Oct. 26 at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, capped an undefeated season for the 130-member marching band. The band also won titles at six regional competitions, performing its field show. “Firebird.”

Town Supervisor Frank Petrone and entire town board congratulated the band for its achievement. Recognitions went to co-directors Jason Giachetti and Brian Stellato and the student leaders: drum majors Megan Boyce, Connor McDonald and Kayla Eidle; field major Kyle Hansen; color guard captains Izzy Harman, Leah Butz and Jackie Bacik; drum captain Justin Edgar-McInerney; woodwind captain Savannah Richardson and brass captain Amy Schmelter
