HORC Plans First-Time Home Buyers' Seminar

Program to Cover Insurance, Credit and Home Inspections

The Huntington Opportunity Resource Center is offering a two-part seminar to help people who are looking to buy their first home.

The first session is scheduled for Tuesday Nov. 10, from 6:30-9 p.m.

Pilar Moya-Mancera will cover issues about improving credit to qualify for a mortgage. Carolyn Horner of Signature Properties will talk reasons to work with a Realtor. And Wendi Lindsey will discuss the role of a real estate attorney.

On Thursday, Nov. 19, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., David Gibb of Gibb Engineering will discuss home inspections; Tom Kidby of Allstate Insurance will talk about home insurance, and bankers from Astoria Bank, CITI Bank, Evolve Bank and Bank of America will talk about programs for first-time buyers.

The seminars will be held at Harborfields Library, 31 Broadway, Greenlawn.
