
HUNTINGTON, NY — Residents within the Huntington School District boundaries voted to approve the 2020-21 school budget by a margin of 3,697 votes to 1,249.
Residents voted on the district's proposed $135,938,167 spending plan for the school year, a 1.84 percent increase from the current budget. To fund the increase, the district proposed a tax levy of $112,350,000, up 1.77 percent from the current year's.
Kelly Donovan, who picked up 3,061 votes, and Xavier Palacios, who earned 2,494, won the Board of Education election. Thomas Galvin (2,447 votes) and Joseph Mattio (995) came up short.
