Huntington Adoptable Pet Of The Week: Lolita
Lolita, an 11-year-old female, had a rough start to life, but she remains sweet, friendly and curious. Would you like to meet her?

HUNTINGTON, NY — Lolita, an 11-year-old female black and white tuxedo cat, is the Grateful Paw Cat Shelter's Huntington Pet of the Week.
She was dumped outside the shelter all alone with no note when she was about a year old, according to Debbi Larkin, president of the shelter.
"She has had a difficult life, especially health wise and unfortunately was moved from one foster home to another," Larkin said. "Lolita had some type of nerve damage to her left front paw when she arrived on our doorstep. She also lost half of her tail when it was closed in a steel door…ouch! But don’t let those 2 issues scare you away, because this beauty makes the best of it."

Lolita is going to be 12 years old in March, and she would love if someone adopted her for her birthday, according to Larkin.
"She was once very aloof, but who wouldn’t be after such a tough beginning?" Larkin said. "She has blossomed in her foster home and also in the shelter. She is now sweet, friendly, curious and adores all things food related. She loves to sit next to anyone who will give her the undivided attention she craves, pet and brush her until their hands go numb and keep the treats coming her way. She also loves to sit on the highest perch on the cat condo and has claimed this spot as 'HERS.' Lolita needs a home where she can wake up next to that special someone who will give her the love she deserves."

Tuxedo cats have some serious historical credentials: William Shakespeare, Beethoven and Sir Isaac Newton all had tuxedo cats, Larkin said.
"Who knows the level of artistic and scientific advancement these kitties inspired?" Larkin said. "There are also tuxedo cats in pop culture, including Sylvester from Looney Tunes, the Cat in the Hat ( Dr. Seuss) and Mr. Mistoffelees from the Broadway show 'Cats.'"
Lolita is fully vetted, tested negative for FELV/FIV, litter box trained and spayed.
"If you are looking for the perfect lady, she is the one."
