Huntington Area Isaias Updates: Thousands Without Power

The power may not come back until Friday, according to PSEG Long Island. Here are some numbers from its website.

HUNTINGTON, NY — One of the effects of Tropical Storm Isaias is loss of power — something roughly 340,000 Long Islanders are dealing with. Thousands in the Huntington area alone are without electricity.

Here's a breakdown of how PSEG Long Island customers are affected, according to data on its website as of 10:30 a.m. Wednesday:

  • Huntington: 6,732 without power — 74.45 percent. Estimated time of repair: 3:30 a.m. Friday.
  • Huntington Station: 4,938 without power — 41.95 percent. ETR: 3:30 a.m. Friday.
  • South Huntington: 2,060 without power — 51.28 percent. ETR: 3:30 a.m. Friday.
  • Lloyd Harbor: 1,342 without power — 95.72 percent. ETR: 10 p.m. Thursday.
  • Greenlawn: 2,365 without power — 47.82 percent. ETR: 3:30 a.m. Friday.
  • Cold Spring Harbor: 1,950 without power — 96.06 percent. ETR: 12:30 a.m. Friday.
  • Centerport: 2,002 without power — 84.19 percent. ETR: 2:30 a.m. Friday.

The PSEG Long Island website was down for most of Tuesday afternoon, making it nearly impossible for residents to report outages in a timely manner.
