Huntington Athletes Place in Triathlon Top 10

Huntington residents placed in the top 10 spots in their respective categories in Saturday's Town of Oyster Bay Triathlon.

Kaitlyn Robinson of Huntington Station finished fifth in the overall results in the women's division. Peter Ventura of Huntington ranked eighth in the overall results for men.

The triathlon consisted of a half mile swim in Oyster Bay Harbor, a 15-kilometer bike ride through Oyster Bay, Laurel Hollow, and Cove Neck and a  5-kilometer run through Mill Neck & Brookville, to Planting Fields Arboretum and back to Roosevelt Park in Oyster Bay.

The overall men's winner was Tom Eicklberg, 24, of Cortland, who finished the triathlon in 00:56:17.83. The top women's winner was Karen Pompay of Garden City, at a time of 01:06:01.57.
