Gary Nielsen, Esq. will be honored with the Annual Champions for Families Award by RotaCare NY, a nonprofit serving uninsured Long Islanders living in poverty, with free health care screenings, exams, and medications by an all-volunteer crew of healthcare professionals. Nielsen is an attorney with more than 30 years of experience as a trial and appellate advocate, and has represented hundreds of clients, including many victims of avoidable medical errors. He has obtained millions of dollars in settlements for injured plaintiffs, and tried medical malpractice cases in several states. He maintains the highest "AV" rating from Martindale Hubbell and has since 1999, in peer recognition of his legal ability, ethics, judgment and experience. Nielsen serves on the board of directors of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, has been profiled in the Long Island Business News as a prominent medical malpractice lawyer, and is recognized on New York Super Lawyers® List. The Champions for Families event is on Thursday, November 17 in Garden City at the Mercer School of Theology.
