HUNTINGTON, NY — A Huntington bookstore and a Huntington Station non-profit organization are teaming up for a fundraiser that will ensure school children have enjoyable reading material.

Book Revue, a store at 313 New York Ave., is hosting an online fundraiser for Helping Hand Rescue Mission to collect donations of books for its Back-to-School Backpack program, Alyssa Axelrod, school & wholesale manager at Book Revue, said.

The book drive began early this year. Helping Hand Rescue Mission teamed up with the bookstore in an effort to help a local business through challenging times brought on by the new coronavirus. Those interested in the fundraiser can buy books from a select list of titles to be included in backpacks. Alternatively, people and families can shop for themselves, and 20 percent of all sales will be donated to Helping Hand to buy books with.
