Huntington Boxer Chris Algieri Celebrates Greenlawn Fireman's Fair

The hometown boxer has been coming to the fair for most of his life.

Huntington’s own professional boxer Chris Algieri made an appearance at the annual Greenlawn Fireman’s Fair.

Algieri rode in a vintage 1939 Plymouth while served as Grand Marshall of the parade on Thursday night.

The boxer has been coming to this fair for most of his life. He wrote on Instagram that it “is an honor to help support local heroes and give back to the community.”

Besides participating in the parade in fair, Algieri greeted fans and signed autographs.

The Greenlawn Fireman’s Fair, which began in 1906, is the state’s longest running fair. The event was held Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Monday and featured food, rides, a parade, games and prizes.
