Huntington Congratulates 64 All-County Musicians

The Huntington School District continued their tradition of sending a large number of student musicians to the Suffolk County Music Educators Association’s annual festival series in March.

More than five dozen students were chosen based on a highly competitive selective process. Nineteen students from Huntington High School, 24 from J. Taylor Finley Middle School, 16 from Woodhull Intermediate School and five from Jack Abrams STEM Magnet School received All-County honors.

“The All County Festival features several hundred of the best young musicians in the area, learning and performing very advanced music in a short amount of time,” said Sarah Loveland Gill, Huntington’s district director of fine and performing arts, according to the Huntington Union Free School District.

The students will perform in one of three concerts, depending on their grade level.

“The All-County selections are testament to this talent and dedication, as well as the genuine enjoyment they derive from their musical pursuits,” Superintendent James W. Polansky told the HUFSD.
