Huntington Library Events: Movies, True Crime Club, Cutting The Cord
The library is launching a monthly True Crime Club, with January's featuring The Zodiac Killer. A couple of movie nights are also slated.

HUNTINGTON, NY — Huntington Library, at 338 Main St., is gearing up for an eventful late January and early February.
The library is launching its monthly True Crime Club, hosting a couple of movies, and more.

Event: Friday Afternoon Movie: "Bridget Jones Diary"
Location: Huntington Public Library Main Auditorium
Date: Friday, Jan. 20
Time: 3 p.m.
Description : 2001, R, 103 mins. Bridget Jones is determined to improve herself while she looks for love in a year in which she keeps a personal diary. The movie is open to all, and registration is not required.
Event: The Usual Suspects: True Crime Club
Location: Huntington Main Meeting Room
Date: Monday, Jan. 23
Time: 7 p.m.
Description: Attention true crime lovers - join the library for a new monthly True Crime Club. Each month will focus on a different true crime case with theories, suspects and coverage being discussed. Interviews and videos will also be used to analyze the details of the different cases.

"The Zodiac Killer supposedly is responsible for more than two dozen murders in California, the original Zodiac Killer remains 'at large,'” the library wrote. "With multiple suspects, multiple detectives and multiple crime scenes up and down the west coast, “Z” is possibly the closest thing the world has ever come to a true “supervillain” straight out of a comic book. His ability to evade police is remarkable, and his intellect put him on-par with the FBI and various other police agencies all over the world. In this meeting, we will analyze the case that continues to puzzle the police."

Event: Milkweed for Monarchs

Time: 7 p.m.
Event: Did you know the Monarch butterfly, one of the most recognizable insects in America, was declared endangered in 2022? Find out about the monarch's incredible life cycle and 3,000-mile migration, and why the population is in serious decline. Registered participants can pick up milkweed seeds at the library to plant at home.
