Huntington Local to Teach Low Income Students Through Teach For America
The 2011 Walt Whitman graduate will teach in Greater Philadelphia.

A 2011 graduate of Walt Whitman High School has joined Teach For America, a national nonprofit that helps expand educational opportunities to students in low-income areas.
Fuschia Ray, who graduated from New York University in 2015, will teach in Greater Philadelphia. She joins a network of 50,000 corps members who will teach in high-need communities and advocate for educational equity.
“It is with incredible excitement we welcome this group of remarkable and diverse corps members,” Elisa Villanueva Beard, co-CEO of Teach For America, said in a statement. “They join a group of 50,000 leaders who have raised their hand to be part of ensuring every child has access to an excellent and equitable education.”
