Huntington Middle Schooler Wins Town-Wide Poster Contest
The poster contest was initiated to educate the youth on the new single stream recycling method and to promote recycling.

A Huntington middle schooler’s poster design stood out from the rest to easily name her the winner of the Town’s 2015 Single Stream Poster Contest.
The town-wide poster contest was initiated to help educate the youth on the new single stream recycling method and to encourage more children to become involved with recycling in the home.
All students grades six through eight in the local school districts were invited to participate in the contest. The entries were critiqued by a panel of judges from the Huntington Arts Council and the Town’s Waste Management Department.

“We received over a dozen of colorful and creative entries, which tasked our judges, but in the end, Aina Kahn’s submission was named the unanimous winner,” Councilman Mark Cuthbertson said.
Kahn was presented a proclamation for her artistic achievement at the Town Board Meeting on Tuesday, July 14.
