Huntington Police Blotter: Man Steals Money, Attacks A Mother

The man is accused of grabbing the woman's neck in front of her daughter, police say.

HUNTINGTON, NY — These are recent arrests made in the Huntington area from July 12 through July 17.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • Eric Freeman, 45, of North Bellport, entered the unlocked front door of a Huntington Station home and stole money at 11 a.m. July 16, police said. Freeman grabbed a woman's neck in front of her daughter, police said. He was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary: dwelling, obstruction of breath, endangerment of welfare of a child under 17 and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance on July 16.
  • John Theobald, 21, of Huntington, ingested fentanyl while in custody at the Suffolk County Police Department Second Precinct at 7:55 a.m. July 15, police said. He was arrested and charged with tamper w/ physical evidence: conceal/destroy and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance on July 15.
