Huntington Police Blotter: Man Swipes Taxi Driver's Purse
ALSO: Another man was found to have a stolen Home Depot credit card on him, police say.
HUNTINGTON, NY — These are recent arrests made in the Huntington area from Feb. 21 through Feb. 27.
The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.
- Joel Santiago, 38, of Huntington, was riding as a passenger in a taxi at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 24 when he stole the taxi driver's purse while in Huntington Station, police said. He was arrested and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny: credit card on Feb. 25.
- Derrick Loyde, 34, of Huntington Station, was pulled over at the corner of East Pulaski Road and First Avenue in Huntington Station at 9:23 p.m. Feb. 23 and was found to have drug paraphernalia and a stolen Home Depot credit card, police said. He was arrested and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property: possession of credit card and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance on Feb. 23.
