Huntington Police Blotter: Man Used Stolen Credit Card To Shop Online

ALSO: A man stole a pair of sunglasses worth more than $1,300 while at a restaurant in Huntington, police say.

HUNTINGTON, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? These are recent incidents reported in the Huntington area from Oct. 22 through Oct. 28.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • Oct. 27: Matthew Silver, 62, of Melville, stole a pair of Cartier sunglasses worth $1,345 from someone at Portofino restaurant in Huntington, police said. He was arrested and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny: value of stolen property over $1,000.
  • Oct. 26: Shamel Robinson, 27, of Huntington Station, stole a wallet containing credit cards from inside a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado on New York Avenue in Huntington on Aug. 29, police said. He was arrested and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny.
  • Oct. 23: Joseph Chiarelli, 47, of Huntington Station, used a stolen credit card to make online purchases on Dec. 5, 2022, police said. The items were delivered to his Birchwood Drive, Huntington Station home, police said. He was arrested and charged with third-degree grand larceny.
