HUNTINGTON, NY — The Huntington Union Free School District took to Facebook Monday morning to post about its desire to restart the Huntington High School Alumni Association. The currently defunct organization goes back to 1886.

Per the district, there are tens of thousands of Huntington alumni residing in the community and across the country. It hopes that one or more will consider putting together a small band of people and forming a new leadership core to reconstitute the Alumni Association.

The district believes the benefits of a rejuvenated association could include having mentors for students, as well as college and employment counseling and guidance.
