The districts announce the decision following an overnight snowfall.

Huntington, South Huntington and Harborfields Public Schools will be closed Friday due to inclement weather, district officials have announced.
Here’s the message on Huntington’s district website:
Huntington schools closed Today.
All after-school and evening activities canceled.
Here’s a message from South Huntington Schools’ superintendent:
Hi All:
We were hoping that the forecast might be mistaken but it appears that the snow line is exactly as predicted. Our roads are now covered throughout the district and the snow is coming down at an inch per hour with predictions to continue until noon. Therefore we simply are not confident in safe travel today. As a result, we are going to play it safe and close schools today (Friday, February 5, 2016).
Please be well and stay safe.
