Huntington Station Shop Employee Sold Tobacco To Underage Person: Police

Officers investigated 12 businesses and found one to not be in compliance with the law, police say.

HUNTINGTON STATION, NY — A man was arrested after he sold a tobacco product to an underage person during a compliance check at a Huntington Station business on Thursday, Suffolk police said.

Officers investigated the sale of tobacco and vape products to underage people at 12 businesses following community complaints, police said. One business was found not to be in compliance with the law, police said.

Muhammad Janjua, an employee of Huntington Mart, at 276 East Jericho Turnpike, was charged
with second-degree unlawfully dealing with a child, police said.

Janjua, 45, of Selden, was released on a field appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.
