Following her retirement, Link tutored students in foreign languages, enjoyed traveling extensively and volunteered as a docent for the Huntington Historical Society for more than 30 years. At the age of 96, she was recognized by Newsday for her volunteerism with the Huntington Historical Society.

Link is an avid reader and loves learning things every day.

Her words of wisdom are: "Keep busy, challenge one’s self and do not become stagnant!"

Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci, Town officials, the Huntington Historical Society, and retired teachers from the South Huntington School District joined to organize the parade for Link. Thomas Stackpole, owner, and employees of Gold Coast Home Comfort in Hicksville, provided decorations and cake for the occasion.

"Gold Coast Home Comfort has a long history of volunteering with our Senior Center’s Annual St. Patrick’s Day Party," Lupinacci stated. "As COVID has changed our party programming, they asked how they can provide a special community service for a Town of Huntington senior. They were enthralled by Alice’s history and we are very appreciative of their help in celebrating this very special centenarian!"
