John Glenn High School Earns State Honor For 10th Straight Year
The high school was among 118 statewide to receive the honor after all its varsity teams earned Scholar-Athlete Team recognition.

ELWOOD, NY — Elwood-John H. Glenn High School has been named a School of Distinction by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) for the 10th consecutive year, the Elwood School District said.
John Glenn was one of 118 high schools statewide to receive the honor for the 2025-26 school year.
To qualify for the School of Distinction award, schools must have 100 percent of their varsity athletic teams earn NYSPHSAA Scholar-Athlete Team recognition during their respective sports seasons.

“I am incredibly proud of our student athletes, teachers and coaches,” Principal Lindsay Fritch said. “Earning the NYSPHSAA School of Distinction award is a true testament to our culture of excellence and the dedication our students show both in the classroom and on the field.
