Keep Quads off Public Roads in Huntington: Letter to the Editor
One residents asks the community to help keep Huntington safe.

The following letter was submitted to Patch:
Consider this a public service announcement... To the parents letting their child ride a quad on route 110... I witnessed your child narrowly escape death on the corner of Schwab Road, turning, through traffic, barely escaping on coming cars, onto Route 110. This is not the first time I have encountered young people quad riding on public roads. I've seen them on New York Avenue (south of Jericho) and on Melville Road. Quads are by no means street legal. Not only is your child endangering himself, but he is endangering others by distracting drivers with his stunts that DO NOT belong on a public road. If you know these people, please encourage them to stop allowing this behavior. It is a danger to our entire community. I have seen a red quad and yellow quad. Sometimes together, sometimes not. Please keep our community safe.
