Legislator D'Amaro Seeking a Super Senior Citizen!

I am currently accepting nominations for the 17th Legislative District Senior Citizen of the Year Award.  If you know of someone over the age of 60 who lives in one of the communities covered by my district and has enhanced the lives of older residents in Suffolk County as an advocate, role model, leader or volunteer, here’s an opportunity for you to give them the acknowledgment they deserve.

The senior citizen selected will be recognized by me and then submitted for the honor of 2014 Suffolk County Senior Citizen of the Year, an annual award presented by the Suffolk County Office for the Aging and the Suffolk County Senior Citizens Advisory Board. The County award will be presented at the Senior Celebration Luncheon in May.

Nominate someone you know age 60 or over by submitting a short essay listing the individual’s contributions and stating why you believe this person is worthy of recognition.  Self-nominations are also encouraged.  Essays can be emailed toKaren.Klafter@suffolkcountyny.gov or sent via mail or fax to my District Office, 130 West Jericho Turnpike, Huntington Station, NY 11746, Fax (631) 854-4415.  For more information, call (631) 854-4433.  Deadline for submissions is March 5, 2014.  Good luck!
