Long Island Sons of Italy Columbus Day Parade is Sunday in Huntington

The annual parade kicks off at 12:30 p.m. on Main Street

The Long Island Sons of Italy Columbus Day Parade kicks off Sunday in Huntington on Main Street, Route 25 A, and runs from 12:30-3 p.m.

This year’s grand marshals are New York State OSIA President Joseph F. Rondinelli; Beatrice Ganci, honorary grand marshal; Joe Satta, a WHLI radio personality; and Robert Davi, actor and singer.

The parade is hosted by Town of Huntington Supervisor Frank P. Petrone.

Participating school bands participating include East Meadow High School, W. T. Clarke High School, Kings Park High School, Walt Whitman High School, Islip High School and Deer Park High School and more.

More than 25 chapters from Queens, Nassau and Suffolk counties will participate in the parade, which celebrates the 109th Anniversary of the Order Sons of Italy in America – considered the oldest and largest organization of Italian Americans in the United States, with more than 745 chapters across the country.

The Long Island Sons of Italy say the parade will bring the Italian American pride and presence to the Town of Huntington during the annual Fall Festival celebration weekend that will take place at Heckscher State Park in Huntington.
