Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci (R,C,WF,I-Huntington Station) recently took part in the Walk to Cure Arthritis at Belmont Lake State Park. More than 50 million Americans suffer from arthritis, including 300,000 children. The event raised funds to support research of the disease and to help those living with the crippling disease receive the services they require.
“Arthritis is a crippling disease that plagues New Yorkers regardless of age, race or gender,” said Lupinacci. “Each year, people with arthritis account for 44 million outpatient visits and 992,100 hospitalizations, and it is the leading cause of disability in the United States. I want to thank all the members of the Arthritis Foundation who worked to coordinate the event as well as all the participants who made it so successful.”
