Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci (R,C,WF,I-Huntington Station) joined representatives from Manor Energy and Autism Speaks to unveil new trucks wrapped with the Autism Awareness Logo. April 2014 is National Autism Awareness Month.
“One of the most basic functions of government is to protect the needs and interests of our most vulnerable citizens, this is especially true for those afflicted by autism spectrum disorder and their families,” said Lupinacci. “I am so proud to have been invited to join Manor Energy and Autism Speaks to highlight this tremendous effort to raise awareness about this cause and the people who live with autism every day.”

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), new data from a surveillance study identified 1 in 68 children (1 in 42 boys and 1 in 189 girls) as having autism spectrum disorder (ASD). To learn more about Autism Speaks, visit http://www.autismspeaks.org/.
