LUPINACCI: HUNTINGTON & BABYLON HAVE PAID ENOUGH FOR GEA
Lupinacci recently commented on a recent report showing the gap elimination adjustment (GEA) has lost taxpayers in Huntington $12 million.

Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci (R,C,I-South Huntington) issued the following statement regarding a recent report showing the gap elimination adjustment (GEA) has lost taxpayers in Huntington roughly $12 million in state aid in the last six years. Babylon, a neighboring community, was reported to have lost $5.6 million in state aid.
“Our local school districts are tired of being shortchanged by Albany,” said Lupinacci. “Money was shifted more toward New York City schools than here in Suffolk County, which continues to negatively affect our students. The GEA has been a disaster for our state’s education system; cutting valuable student programs and extra-curricular activities is not the blueprint to an effective learning environment. Albany cannot continue to shortchange our young minds by taking away valuable education opportunities they deserve.”
