Lupinacci Speaks to Cold Spring Harbor Civil Rights Group

COLD SPRING HARBOR, N.Y. – Assemblyman Chad A. Lupinacci (R,C,I,Ref.—South Huntington) recently joined the Civil Rights Activist Club at Cold Spring Harbor High School to discuss the election of President Donald J. Trump and the administration’s recent executive orders.

The group of 14 sophomores, juniors and seniors gathered at Cold Spring Harbor Junior/Senior High School to discuss the President’s role in setting an agenda, policy making, and what is in store for the first 100 days in office.

“I was pleased to join the Civil Rights Activist Club and its founders, Maxwell, Anthony, and Albert, to answer their questions about the recent election and the immediate future of national politics,” Lupinacci said. “It is so encouraging to learn that our high school students are passionate about government, as well as enthusiastic to defend civil rights in their school community.”

“These high school activists were impressive and very knowledgeable on the current events surrounding Trump’s presidency. Students from throughout the political spectrum asked insightful questions, all rooted in their understanding of American politics, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights,” continued Lupinacci. “I would like to applaud the Cold Spring Harbor Central School District for their role in enabling these terrific students to discuss, analyze, and understand the role of the executive branch in American politics. This was truly a superb group of students who are determined to make our society more accepting, tolerant and politically engaged.”
