Assemblymen Chad Lupinacci (R,C,WF,I-Huntington Station) and Andrew Raia (R,I,C-East Northport) recently attended The Chai Center’s appreciation breakfast for special education students at the center. The Chai Center is led by Rabbi Yackov Saacks and strives to keep the philosophy with the Chabad-Lubavitch approach of joy, scholarship and unconditional acceptance and love of all members of the Jewish faith.
“The Chai Center provided a warm and welcoming atmosphere and the students and faculty were all truly delighted to share the event with everyone,” said Lupinacci. “This mentor/friendship program provides special needs students with an outstanding role model they can follow in their daily lives, while also keeping with the Jewish traditions. I want to thank Rabbi Yackov Saacks for allowing me to share the award ceremony with them.”
The Chai Center is self-described as “one of New York's most unorthodox orthodox Synagogues,” for Jews of all backgrounds and affiliations who wish to learn more about their Jewish roots. The center offers a wide variety of educational and spiritual opportunities, including Hebrew School, preschool, Torah classes, Shabbaton dinners and an array of Jewish Holiday programs.
