Main Street Turns Green for St. Patrick's Parade
Huntington Hibernians put on 81st annual parade
Residents lined the streets of Huntington Sunday to witness the 81st Ancient Order of Hibernians parade in honor of St. Patrick.
Led by the Rev. Stephen Donnelly of St. Patrick’s Church, the parade’s grand marshal, marchers went north on New York Avenue past the reviewing stand on Main Street. Pipe bands, fire departments, dance groups, elected officials and school musicians took part.
Many marchers and parade-goers, and occasionally their pets, sported a variety of Irish-themed looks, from fake red beards to green eyebrows or mustaches, and green hats and necklaces.
