- An East Northport father was arrested after driving drunk with his 11-month-old daughter following crash. Matthew Gibney, 33, was charged with DWI under Leandra's Law after he hit the back of a 2020 Mazda on Elwood Road. The accident occurred at the intersection of Pulaski Road, at 6:40 p.m. Saturday, police said. Gibney and the driver of the Mazda were not injured in the crash. (Patch)

- Four swimmers from Huntington HS qualify for the New York state championships. Evan Spagnoletti, Lucas Spagnoletti, Pierre Leroy and Max Leroy will be headed to Ithaca in March after noting times that qualify them for the state swimming and diving championships in one or more events. "All four Blue Devil swimming stars first tipped their toes into the water shortly after they began walking, possibly even before knowing these teenagers," the school district wrote. "They have been in the pool for many years, swimming for local clubs and for Huntington High School." (Huntington Patch)
