Man Dead In Suffolk Car Crash

The man was driving when he went off the road and hit multiple poles, police say.

HUNTINGTON, NY — A man was killed in a crash in Huntington on Tuesday morning, Suffolk police said.

Peter Insaurralde, 29, of Huntington, was driving a 2013 Nissan westbound on East Jericho Turnpike, just east of Broadway, when he went off the road, police said. Insaurralde struck a utility pole, two light poles, and an unoccupied parked vehicle in the parking lot of 1055 East Jericho Turnpike at 4:45 a.m. Tuesday, police said.

Insaurralde, who was alone in the Nissan, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

The car was impounded for a safety check. Anyone with information on the crash was asked to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
