Man Fighting For Life After Broadway Avenue Crash In Greenlawn: Police

The crash happened at Broadway Avenue and Little Plains Road just after 3 a.m., police say.

GREENLAWN, NY — A 42-year-old man was critically injured in a two-vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Greenlawn, according to Suffolk County police.

The collision occurred at around 3:19 a.m. at the intersection of Broadway Avenue and Little Plains Road, police said.

A 2022 Toyota Tundra traveling northbound on Broadway Avenue collided with a 2009 Honda CR-V that was traveling eastbound on Little Plains Road, according to Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives.

The Honda driver, Michael Izzo, 42, of Huntington, was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore in critical condition, police said. The Toyota driver, 56, of Hauppauge, was not injured. Both drivers were alone in their vehicles at the time of the crash, according to police.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks, police said.
