Man Charged With Huntington Murder: Police

A 39-year-old man was found bloodied in the street Wednesday morning, police say.

UPDATED Thursday at 6:43 a.m.:

Authorities arrested the man responsible for the murder of a 39-year-old man whose body was found bloodied in the street in Huntington Wednesday morning, police say.

Samuel White, 32, of Brentwood, was arrested at 4:55 p.m. Wednesday and was charged with first-degree manslaughter. He will be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Central Islip.

According to authorities, police received a report of a man unconscious and covered in blood in the street near Mary Carroll’s, located at 1 Clinton Ave., at 3:17 a.m.

Authorities found Edwin Rivera, of Bay Shore, lying on the ground next to his grey 2015 Mercedes. Rivera was transported to Huntington Hospital by Huntington Community First Aid Squad where he was pronounced dead.

Rivera's death was ruled criminal and an autopsy will be performed by members of the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner to determine his cause of death.
