UPDATED: Police Identify Huntington Station Shooting Victim
The incident occurred Saturday morning, police said.

Suffolk County Police are investigating a shooting in Huntington Station that caused a man serious injuries on Saturday morning.
According to authorities, Nelson Hernandez, 22, of Huntington Station, was shot in the back near the area of West Hills Road and President Street at 1:35 a.m.
Authorities arrived to the scene and found Hernandez lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to his back.

He was transported to Huntington Hospital with serious injuries, police said.
Authorities have not made any arrests.

The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the Second Squad at 631-854-8252 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
