Man Shot, Killed Behind Huntington Station Deli; Police Say Investigation Ongoing

Homicide Squad detectives are investigating a targeted shooting that killed a man Monday afternoon in Huntington Station, police say.

HUNTINGTON STATION, NY — A man was fatally shot in Huntington Station Monday afternoon in what police described as a targeted incident, according to Suffolk County police.

Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the shooting, which occurred around 4:15 p.m. behind One Stop Deli, located at 150 West Pulaski Road, police said.

A 911 caller reported that a man had been shot at the location, according to police.

When officers arrived, they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Emergency responders performed CPR at the scene before transporting him to Huntington Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Authorities had earlier confirmed the victim was a 30-year-old man, though his identity has not yet been released.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and that additional details are not yet available.

In a statement posted online, the Town of Huntington said it is aware of the fatal shooting and confirmed that the Suffolk County Police Department is leading the investigation.

“There is no credible threat to the public at-large,” the town said.

Suffolk County Legislator Rebecca Sanin also addressed the incident on social media.

“I am deeply concerned, and I will continue working closely with law enforcement as they gather all the facts,” Sanin said.

Police have not yet released any suspect information.
