3. Mara's Southern Kitchen in Syosset to close. The Syosset staple will shut its doors after 11 years in business. Josh Levi, Mara’s son and business partner said the closure is due to inflation, a labor shortage, and the empty office buildings next door. Mara's has been serving Cajun and Creole specialties in Muttontown Plaza since 2011. (News 12 Long Island)
