Event: Understanding Parkinson's Disease and Current Treatments

Description: Join this virtual program to better understand Parkinson's Disease, treatment options, and community resources. Information will be presented by Dr. David Kreitzman, Board Certified Neurologist, Movement Disorders Specialist, and Julie Garofalo, RN, Coordinator, American Parkinson Disease Association Information and Referral Centers of Suffolk County. Description: Join India-trained Yoga Therapist and Teacher Trainer Danielle Tarantola for this holistic approach to physical and mental wellness that highlights and guides you through postures, breathing practices and meditation techniques. The practices promote physical and mental flexibility, health, and strength through the lens of the time-tested Yoga philosophy. Participants should be able to get up and down off the floor and be in general good health for this movement-based class. Please bring a yoga mat. Registration is required. Open to all. Description: Can loved ones who have passed send us signs that they are with us in spirit? Maria D’Andrea, MSD, D.D., DRH will help us learn to tune into signs and will explore the idea of symbols and what they mean. Common ones are butterflies, birds, and coins. She will also discuss loved ones appearing in dreams. Registration required and open to all.

Event: Child of the Holocaust Lecture with Dr. William Reszelbach

Description: A child of Holocaust survivors, Dr. Reszelbach shares his family’s harrowing experiences at the hands of the Nazis, coupled with Holocaust history. Hear about his parents’ will to survive and how these traumatic events affected their new life in the USA, as well as his own life, and his perspective on modern-day anti-Semitism. Event: Replacing Victor Henry’s Headstone

Description: The simple goal of wanting to visit the gravesites of all April Earle’s direct ancestors back to 3rd great-grandparents developed into quite the project when cousins discovered the headstone of their 3rd great-grandfather, Victor Henry, was broken. April Earle will discuss the subsequent research done to discover long lost descendants, including navigating cemeteries, leveraging social media, and the steps taken to replace Victor’s stone. Description: Marc's life has been about pursuing twin passions: creating, recording, and performing his original songs and exploring remote areas of the American West. He’s performed at Austin's SXSW Music Festival and the Kerrville Folk Festival and opened for Bob Dylan and other national acts, and his antinuclear anthem "The Last One" was a staple of Richie Havens' concerts. Marc’s critically acclaimed album, RIDE, a collection of songs all having to do with the romance of the West, has received national attention. At this special concert, Marc will perform songs from the album and share unforgettable stories about his experiences as an easterner in the mountain and desert west. Description: Responsible for the murder, rape, and cannibalization of Renée Hartevelt in Paris in 1981, Issei Sagawa, aka "the Kobe Cannibal," became a celebrity in Japan upon release from the mental facility where he was a patient. Thanks to his family’s immense fortune, he was able to avoid serious prosecution for the crime, even though French and Japanese police had him dead to rights. Registration required and open to all.

Description: Join Bill Schulman for an evening of NY Yankee history, stories, and memories. A lifelong Yankee fan, Bill wrote two columns for the team publication, Yankees Magazine. During the period from 1982 - 1999 he interviewed more than 115 former Yankee stars for his segment, "Where Are They Now." Attendees will hear many of the interesting and amusing anecdotes as told to him by the former Yankee stars themselves. A must see for all baseball fans in general and Yankee fans in particular!
