Maryann Maltese Petitioning Effort Locations-NYS Primary June 23
Meet Maryann Maltese at Commack Library March 3rd.

Maryann Maltese, a Democrat, is running for NYS Assembly 12th AD; representing neighborhoods or sections of Deer Park, North Babylon, Dix Hills, East Northport, Centerport, Halesite, East Northport, Northport, Elwood, Eatons Neck, Asharoken, Commack, West Islip, Bayshore and Brentwood. Maryann is a retired NYS Legislative-Public Employee with the NYS Legislature, for 18 years, holding multiple titles; Regional Planner, Chief of Staff, Director of Constituent Relations, Director of Legislative Matters and Senior Research Analyst. Maryann Maltese is presently a licensed Real Estate Associate, Certified Substitute Teacher with Brentwood-UFSD and holds a license as a Cosmetologist (Suffolk Boces-Northport Campus).
"I'm excited about putting myself out there as a Candidate for NYS Assembly; my goal is to bring back leadership qualities to the office. As a Young NYS Retiree in good standing, I have had some time to enjoy my civilian life and try new things. In doing so, I went back to school (BOCES-Northport) and enjoyed learning about some other professions that I hold licensure in. It's the 100th Anniversary of the Women's Suffrage Movement meaning that women have been given the right to vote and subsequently go out and run for office. For 30 years, I have either worked for State Government or employed on Campaigns advocating for candidates and women, pushing for our mutual goals primarily Equal Pay For Equal Work or as I call it; Equal Pay for Equal Job Performance and to receive due compensation for work performed; fairness in wages earned and real access to promotional titles.
It's easy for us in Government to talk about Equal Pay for Equal Work, but it's still not implemented within Government Positions held by women. Under my leadership in Albany, that will no longer be. Providing Women with equal pay for the level of work performed and duty placed on us in the work place the demand for us to perform day and day out; should be celebrated by ensuring women in these roles get paid the same salary for accomplishing the same work. It starts with the NYS Legislature-one of the largest At-Will Employers and even today women are not being paid equally for the same job roles. This is unacceptable practice by New York State or private businesses that employ a labor force of over 50 individuals.
Now, instead of mentoring Candidates and their staffs, I'm grabbing the reins and jumping into the race as a Candidate. I love the district; I raised my adult children here, volunteered with many causes; LI Harvest, Toy Drives at St. Anthony's of Padua, American Cancer Society, Youth Organizations, Senior Groups, Holiday Drives, Veterans, and I operate my business in the district. I know I have the skill base needed to accomplish fantastic things and our Assembly District needs a representative that knows the ins and outs of Albany and how to get things done in a short amount of time. I'm the Candidate that can get it done", said Maryann Maltese.
As the challenger on the Democratic Line; NYS Election Law requires candidates to secure the signatures of fellow party members. I'll be canvassing around the district asking registered voters, to sign my petition for office. Registered Democrats throughout Suffolk County can circulate petitions for other Democrats; whether you live in the district or not. If you're not a member of the same party, but you are a NYS Notary; you're also someone who can circulate Election Petitions for a Candidate because you're witnessing Party (Democrats) Members signatures. Petitioning is fun; it's an opportunity for Candidates to meet with their constituencies and for neighbors to be involved in the Election Process. Anyone interested in circulating or hosting a 'To sign-gathering Session", please reach to maryannmaltesefornysassembly@gmail.com.
