Stony Brook's Staller Center Honors Recital

Third Place Co-Winners Receive Medals

The Suffolk Piano Teachers Foundation (SPTF) will honor Maya Hasegawa, eighth grader at Longwood Junior High School in Middle Island as Third Place Co-Winner, along with Katie Zhao, ninth grader at R.C. Murphy Junior High School in Stony Brook, of the late advanced division at the Honors Recital and Awards Ceremony to be held at Stony Brook University's Staller Center Recital Hall on Thursday, June 2, at 5pm and 7:30pm.

As a third place co-winner, Maya will receive her medal and certificate. Maya performed Etude in c# minor, Op.25, No.7 by F. Chopin and Katie Zhao performed Sonata No.5 in c minor, Op.10, No.1, Mvt.3 by L.v.Beethoven at the March competition. Maya is a student of SPTF member, Tamara Slobodkin and Katie a student of SPTF member, Lawrence Schubert.

SPTF wishes to honor Barry Tognolini and thank Steinway Gallery of Long Island for their generous cash award donations for all first place winners of the five-level competition. SPTF is a non-profit organization. Honors recitals are free and open to the public.
