Mustard Seed: A Little Doxie Waiting for a Happy Ending

The unwanted pup, who survived a hoarding situation and a house fire, is now living at Little Shelter in Huntington.

This is a story of a young dachshund born into a hoarding situation, rescued from a house fire and brought to Little Shelter Animal Rescue & Adoption Center in Huntington where she waits for a home.

Tiny, long and cuddly all over, Mustard Seed is one of the few pups rescued from that home who still doesn’t have a new family.

After news spread about the “House of Horrors," hundreds of people sent in applications. Most of the pups received multiple applications, except for Mustard Seed, who didn't even get one.

The little pup unfortunately didn’t escape the deplorable conditions of her home unscathed. She was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus, which could possibly cost thousands of dollars to treat and may cause her to not survive puppyhood.

While she was saved from one bad situation, this little pup is in her steel cage at the shelter still waiting for a place to call her forever home.
