  2. Contractor admits to scamming Huntington homeowner of $200K. Nicholas Spano, age 59, pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted grand larceny in Suffolk County Court on Wednesday, Nov. 30. He was recommended by another contractor to perform work on a woman's home, gained her trust then exploited her from Sep. 2019 to Dec. 2020. “This defendant agreed to help the victim out with home repairs, but instead he exploited his position as a contractor to take advantage of the victim and steal her life savings,” Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney said. (Daily Voice)
  3. Huntington Village will have a new independent bookstore. The Next Chapter opens and succeeds Book Revue, which was in business for 44 years. The store is led by Mallory Braun, former manager of Book Revue, who received $220,000 in donations to keep the book-scene downtown after news spread of Book Revue's closing. (Huntington Now)
