  1. New 'Ice Cream Experience' coming to Huntington Village. Alkemy, a theatrical ice cream experience, will open its doors in January. The ice cream will be made right in front of the customers and owner Alan Lachner said, “Our tagline is, ‘Ice cream so fresh, we haven’t made it yet.’ We make and sell outrageously delicious, premium ice cream, as part of a unique presentation. Each customer’s batch is individually made with farm-fresh ingredients and flash-frozen before their eyes using liquid nitrogen at -321 degrees.” (Huntington Now)
  2. Man died after a car crashed into a utility pole in Commack. The crash occurred around 4 a.m. Thursday when the driver was speeding southbound on Motor Parkway near Shinbone Lane. He lost control of the vehicle on a curve, struck a utility pole and crashed into a wooded area. The driver was not found until 8 a.m. when a motorist driving by called 911. (Patch)
