The Next Chapter Bookstore Opens In Huntington

The store opened "in the spirit of Huntington's Book Revue," a beloved store that closed after four decades in business.

HUNTINGTON, NY — The Next Chapter, a bookstore in Huntington, recently opened at 204 New York Ave.

The bookstore opened "in the spirit of Huntington's Book Revue," which was opened by the Klein brothers in 1977. Book Revue closed toward the end of summer in 2021 after decades of business.

Mallory Braun, a former manager from Book Revue, received Richard Klein's blessing to launch a crowdfunding campaign to found a new independent bookstore in Huntington.

"This store will venture to reincarnate the spirit of Book Revue," Braun wrote on her Kickstarter page.

Just like the Book Revue, she envisions author signings, readings and events at the new space.

Braun previously told Patch the fundraising idea was a natural extension of the community-oriented nature of Book Revue.

"People were setting up a GoFundMe [account] the day it closed," she said. "People just want there to be a bookstore in town."
