North Shore Civil War Roundtable July Meeting

The North Shore Civil War Roundtable July meeting will be held at 7 pm, July 2nd at the South Huntington Public Library.

The North Shore Civil War Roundtable is proud to present a lecture by James Coll.  Mr. Coll will discuss The Constitution and Reconstruction.  While the war transformed the nation, the years following the war transformed the Constitution.  Mr. Coll will discuss the three amendments to the Constitution that were added during Reconstruction and their impact on ending slavery, promoting civil rights, durtailing the power of the states, and enfranchising voters.

Mr. Coll is an adjunct professor at Nassau Community College and a detective for the NYPD in the Tactical and Rescue Unit.

The presentation will begin at 7:00 pm, Thursday, July 2nd at the South Huntington Public Library, 145 Pidgeon Hill Road, Huntington Station.  A question and answer period will follow Mr. Coll’s presentation.

The meeting is free and is open to everyone.  Anyone with an interest in the Civil War is cordially invited.  The North Shore meets on the first Thursday of every month at the South Huntington Public Library.
